On October 30–31, 2025, St. Petersburg’s Tavrichesky Palace hosted the International Scientific and Educational Congress “Intellectual Code of the Commonwealth.” The congress was organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation as a platform for discussing new areas of cooperation in science, education, and human capital development across the Commonwealth.
The congress focused on strengthening the common scientific and educational space, enhancing cooperation among universities, sharing best practices, and developing responses to current technological and global challenges. Its program included plenary meetings, expert sessions, and discussion platforms devoted to scientific sovereignty, professional education, intercultural dialogue, and international cooperation.
Of particular relevance to the medical and health tourism sector was the round table “Cross-Cultural Interaction in Science and Education.” The discussion covered sustainable cooperation among universities from different countries, the promotion of educational programs in new markets, the role of educational tourism as a tool of intercultural exchange, and workforce training for related sectors, including medical and health tourism.
For AMILOT, such discussions are especially important because the development of medical tourism is directly linked to the quality of professional training, international academic cooperation, and the formation of competencies востребованных on foreign markets. The inclusion of workforce and education issues in the agenda of a major international congress confirms that medical and health tourism is becoming an increasingly important part of interstate cooperation within the CIS.
